ATI Featherweght bipod

Got one of these from Brownells UK. Cost around £35 delivered. It's plastic, but of the tough engineering type. Legs fold forward, straight down as pictured, or back under forend.

You can set them up fixed or swivel in the horizontal plane, mine is set to swivel,

The legs are extended using turn buttons and have no steps so can be fixed at any length. I keep mine retracted and that's pefect for the Cricket where I shoot.
It's light, only a few ounces. This has replaced the Harris that I had on and the difference in handling was notable, you don't notice the weight.

It works well too, on my first outing I shot a rabbit and a grey squirrel, both off the bipod.

It will not be everyone's cup of tea, but if you find the other offerings in bipods too heavy, twangy, or expensive , it might be worth a look. Check out ATI's website. It's made in the USA too.

Nice one vizman room for thought as I'm just considering swapping scopes fom adding a bipod to cut weight which will be a real shame as nothing scope wise as comeclse to the elite 6500 for quality glass

ATI bipod fitted. Normal height

Fully extended, ok for long grass.

And folded forward.

If you read some of the reviews there are some typical American negative comments, like: "I wouldn't take it into combat".
No, you would not, but for plinking and hunting over here it's pretty good, at least until the bunnies start shooting back.

Just an update:
I removed the bipod and found that the rectangular mounting plate has dented my stock in a couple of places where the rubber pad is not a good fit. Not serious, it will steam out, I just need to up the padding a bit. So be aware if you get one.
