OK, this is "MY" review of "MY" Colibri.

First I have to thank Ivo, top bloke, honest as the day is long and in no way involved in any issues that I have had.

So the gun arrived and it had a leak, no problem, I can fix that !!!

So I stripped the gun down and put it on the gun rest, investigated the leak and found that it was leaking air down the barrel.......seal on the low pressure side or valve stem not sealing, time to strip the reg and see what was going on.

You will see from this picture that the reg adjuster is still in on piece (the alloy piece between the other alloy piece and the brass piece)

Nothing obvious so I greased it back up and put it back together.....still leaking...bugger.

Increase the reg pressure to help it seal I thought.........big mistake, I know Ernest say's you can adjuster the reg whilst under pressure.......but for those who try....I have spares, mine was adjusted whilst the air tube was empty, this was the result.

Off to my good friend Chris to make me a new one.

When I looked at the broken alloy one, I found a bit of a flaw.....alloy thread on alloy thread does not work, and with a 0.7mm wall on the threads it was going to end in tears

So, with the new part ready to go in I thought it was the best time to investigate the leak, I stripped the reg apart and found that the oring on the low preasure side was faulty, not what you would expect from a new gun.......going to have to strip it completely at some stage and fit new, better quality orings at some stage, just not yet.

Put it all back together and tested for leaks.......sorted

I had to cut the large spring back so I could get it to run at sub 12flb with some small adjustments from that stupid horrible plastic adjuster in the back of the block, will have to get some of those made in alloy at some stage.

Whilst test firing I noticed it was not indexing properly.......here we go again, stripped it down and put it back on the bench.

I opened up the side cover and went through some dry firing cycles (tank drained at this point) and noticed that the indexing lever was not engaging as it should.

So I removed the cocking arm (not shown in the picture above, I was a little bit eager) and then removed the indexing arm, inside I found a small piece of swarf which was catching in the mechanism on the upper right side

Also the pin that throws the indexing arm was not far enough forward to index the mag properly, this can be adjusted by removing the allen key from the centre of the brass circle under the indexing arm and turning the brass cam anti clockwise to move the pin towards the indexing lever.

I took the indexing lever off as it looked quite rough and polished the underside as this lever sits on a magnet and when cocked it will not engage again until fired as the magnet holds it away from the mag, once you fire the gun the hammer hits the plate underneath and moves the indexing lever forward ready to index the mag.

There was also a small issue with the mag not rotating and locking into place when indexed causing it to jam every once in a while, so I stripped the mag down and found 2 small ball bearings and a spring going through the centre of the mag, the issue was the spring was not long enough to force the 2 ball bearings into their respective slots in the inner part of the mag.

All I did to resolve this was to stretch the spring a little and put it back together, dont over stretch it as it will be bloody hard to cock and index the next pellet.

So at this point I thought great I'll put it all back together and go try this thing out.

I know that so far this is not the review everybody was waiting for as I haven't got that far myself, I just thought you might like to see what I've been doing the last couple of weeks whilst you've been waiting.

I'm going to try and get out this afternoon so I will be able to finish this off later once I've chucked a tin of pellets through it.

Cheers

Clive
